Introduction

Impedance converter, resistive impedance converter or minimum loss impedance converter are RF components with the same function. These components solve the relatively common problems in the application of some equipment, components and equipment with different standard impedance.

When the load impedance is not equal to the characteristic impedance of the transmission line, or when two transmission lines with different characteristic impedance are connected, reflection will occur. In addition to using the above impedance regulator to achieve impedance matching, audio impedance converter can also be used to achieve matching. As long as one or more transmission lines are inserted between two transmission lines to be matched, the transformation between different impedances can be completed to obtain good matching, so it is called impedance converter.

Effect

The function of impedance converter is to solve the matching between microwave transmission lines and microwave devices. In RF circuits, problems such as the connection of different transmission lines, the connection between different components, and the connection between antenna and feeder are often encountered. In general, the impedance of the coaxial transmission line is 75 ohms, while the input and output impedance of the polarization separator and channel filter connected to the feeder line is 50 ohms. Therefore, it is necessary to insert impedance converters between connection points to achieve impedance matching and ensure power transmission without reflection.
