Waveguide 3dB directional coupler is also called waveguide bridge. It is often used as waveguide 90 ° power distributor / synthesizer in microwave engineering. When used as a distributor, its output signal phase difference is 90 degrees, and when used as a synthesizer, its input signal phase difference is required to be 90 degrees.
According to the location of the coupling window, it can be divided into H-plane bridge (narrow side coupling) and E-plane bridge (wide side coupling). The coupler with this structure can also realize unequal power distribution between 3-7db. Therefore, as a power distributor / synthesizer, corresponding products can be provided according to different requirements of users for distribution ratio.
